Blame game

There are days, like today, when I couldn't wait to put the big monkey to bed. I love him dearly, but today I wanted to kill him. Maybe not kill him, just give him away for the day. From the moment he woke up, he was either in trouble or about to get into trouble. And 99% of the trouble involved his little sister. I don't know what it is about big brothers and their constant need to bother, harrass and annoy their younger sisters. She will put up with it for awhile but has learned to yell or scream when he does something to her. I know he does it for her reaction. He pokes her, she screams. He takes her doll away, she yells at the top of her lungs. Pretty funny, right? It's gotten to the point that when we hear her yelling, we immediately yell, "Samuel, stop! Leave her alone!" I'm guessing 80% of the time, it's him. So our odds are pretty good. Do all little sisters yell in defense? I sure did. And I remember the pleasure in seeing my brothers get in trouble. Did I yell sometimes just to get my brothers in trouble? You bet I did. And so does she.

The other day she was on the couch with George, Samuel was playing on the floor, far from the couch. Suddenly she started crying. She had bumped her head on the side of the couch. She came up to me in the kitchen, pointed to her head and said "Owie, Gung Gung"(Samuel) So what did I do? "Samuel, come here. Did you hit your sister?" "Mom, I did nothing. I promise."
George came to his defense and told me that Samuel was nowhere near the incident.

So it begins. She's a little advanced. I doubt I was blaming my brothers at 19 months. Can't wait for the years to come!
