Jesus and the Easter Bunny

Easter is a confusing time for kids. So much emphasis is put on the silly bunny, candy and eggs, that a kid is bound to be a bit mixed up. Samuel's preschool is doing an Easter egg hunt tomorrow, the gym had an "Easter" party and his babysitter had another hunt. So it's not even Easter and we're getting Eastered out. Yesterday, I asked Samuel about the real meaning of Easter. We've talked about it a lot in the past but I wanted to remind him.

"Well, Jesus really used to like eggs. And he knows how much kids like candy. So he decided to put them together for everybody. "

Then I asked him about the bunny.

"Oh, that's really Jesus in a costume."

So he's a little confused. Gotta love commercialism!
