Superman

Just a quick post today before I walk out the door. I got a call from George this morning and he didn't sound too good. He pretty much said "I'm screwed." He works for FedEx ground and his average day is around 90 stops. He has somewhere around 250 today. It's supposedly the heaviest day in FedEx ground history.

He is pretty much known as the Superman of the terminal. He is almost always the first one back every day. He is friendly to his costumers and they love him. So he not only delivers packages on time, he does it with a genuine smile. The managers told him this morning, "George, if anyone can do it, you can." Yeah, if he stays out past midnight.

So, these smiles have been slowly disappearing as the week goes on. He called me the other day and said, "I'm trying to have a good attitude. I just don't want to." Today, he doesn't sound much better.

So, be sweet to your delivery men. If they don't give you their usual smile, please understand. Give them a Christmas cookie. Offer them a drink. It's Christmas and they are working their butts off.

Can't even imagine trying to deliver 250 packages in Atlanta Christmas traffic. What time did he get home that day or I mean night? Wow! My hat is off.
