Leaving the munchkins

Tomorrow I leave for the weekend, alone!!! Yes, two nights without children and husband. I am only going a couple of hours away to the mountains for a wedding. One of my good friends who I taught special ed with has a former student who is getting married. Well, she actually is already married and has two kids but has never had the opportunity to have a "real" wedding. So, I am the designated photographer. I'm a bit nervous about the responsibilty. I mean, I can take cute pictures of my kids but a wedding?

It will be small and very simple. These are people that have never had money. The bride works at the Waffle House. They have never traveled. So, going away to the mountains will be huge for them. I hope to capture their excitement in my pictures.

Of course I am a little nervous about leaving the kids. George is not the best multi-tasker. But I know that they will survive and be happy despite what the house will look like when I come home.

I am excited about girl time, drinking wine in a cabin until the late hours,  not hearing any whining, an absolutely quiet car, eating without having to worry about keeping kids seated, spills, or wiping faces, going to the bathroom without interruption, not listening to the annoying Wiggles, Dora or Elmo for two days, not waking up to "SAMUEL STOP!!!!! "

I could go on but you get the idea. I'll update when I get back.
